Today, I hold the role as Chapter Lead for Product Design for Apps at Woolies X.

Here I focus my energy in driving a high performing culture and culture, that continually mentors and grows a team of individuals into a strong collective of design thinkers. My aim is continually challenge the perception of their world and open up the potential of what it can be.

Maintaining a coherent experience across the large team is always challenging. I’m passionate about designing with principles that encourages us to leave our personal biases aside and achieve a common belief on how to achieve design good for our experience. The focus is not just on utility (simply my life), but beauty (the uplift my spirit) and durability (built on solid foundations). I see value not what is good design, but on how we make decision to make good design.

I believe that all people are born creative, whether you are an Engineer, Product Owner, Business Analysts, UX or UI designer, when forming outcomes we are stronger together. However not everyone is a designer. For me this takes years of practice, discipline and volumes of work too deeply understand the nuances of design. It is the reason why I push myself to do more, and continually challenge myself to tease out the weakness of my own designs.

I believe importance of conversations over documentation. I sway from email (or limiting my time using it). Instead always opting for more impromptu and face to face conversations. I believe this encourages and fosters deeper relationships between people.

I love crafting meaningful products for people to help support or nudge their behaviour, measuring and learning from each iteration. Mobile, people, and craft, it’s what I’m truly passionate about.
